Volterra for Brunch

Jane and I met for brunch on Sunday. Sunny, Ballard, Volterra. Can’t go wrong, really. It was delightful. We had a round of their Peach & Thyme Bellinis – delicious, though I’d like a larger portion for that beverage at that price.

I ordered Milano! Milano! — an herby bread pudding, topped with smoked gouda sauce, asparagus and 2 (poached) eggs. Jane had the bacon, avocado, provolone scramble and toast. Both were outstanding. The place filled up while we were there, but even then didn’t feel crowded. They have a nice space there, with sky light windows. Service did slow a bit when the full crowd descended.

We even took a stroll through the farmer’s market, looking for/at preppy boys. Few to be found, but Beth did buy some asparagus and some beets. Both are delicious. Thanks Jane! Hope Lauri and Sasha had a nice mini-break to Half Moon Bay!
